Guest dannyh1978
Hi all Have applied for my spousal visa and may be travelling around the time it might be granted. Do you need to be in the UK to have passport updated at the time it's granted? Thanks Dan
BackToAdelaide
Assuming you've done an offshore application (309/100) you just need to be outside Australia when the visa is granted. If your travel includes Australia you'll need to let your CO know. You don't actually have to send your passport off at all as your visa will be granted by way of a letter in an email. However, many people prefer to send off their passport to Australia House in London once their visa is granted in order to get a visa label stuck in. It can be useful when applying for jobs, drivers licence, Medicare etc in Australia to have a physical stamp in your passport to show them. But you don't need it to enter the country.
