Guest ANDY101
Hi guys, We leave for Ballarat, Victoria on August 25th (*gulp*) with our one way tickets! We had planned on taking our petrol mower (it was quite expensive and is not old) but I'm worried that Customs might take a dim view. Does anyone have any experience / advice? Thanks! calNgary
As long as clean and contains no evidence of grass cuttings you should be ok ,may also be wise to empty the tank and swill it out ,hope this helps Cal x
Guest Kendra
It might pay to see if you can get parts for it in oz! Could work out more expensive later if you can't, and you would have more trouble re-selling it if its an unknown brand over here
Guest madscrapper
We have been told that our lawn mower has to be SPOTLESS with no signs of dirt like squeaky clean. Otherwise it will be thrown out!!
Guest steve110
Make sure, as has been previously mentioned that you can get parts for it. i would at least take a couple of spare blades with you........... Take it to bits and clean it well,if you can takes the wheels off,do so,and scrub them well (stick in the dish washer when the missus is out) make sure there is no grass residue on it ..... drain the fuel and oil from the engine.(the last thing you need is having the mower tipped during transit, and then having oil leak out.) alcocainmel
Hi Andy, We have been out here for 10 weeks now. We had a petrol lawn mower which was only about a year old. We were advised by our removal company that lawn mowers have to be exceptionally clean with no trace of grass stain on. They advised us that even if it was clean but there were any such marks on then it would not be accepted by quarentine!! We decided in the end we would sell it at home before we left and get another when we got here. Probably not what you wante to here. Good luck with your move.
