immy21
I am an Estate Agent in the the UK and am looking to work in the same role when I get to the Gold Coast next year. Does anyone have any experience of Real Estate Agents in Aus and is there anything I should know apart from the fact that I will need to be qualified as they are licensed over there. Guest dnewman
Hi There, I too worked in international real estate while in the UK, and carried on this carreer once I got to Oz. You need to be licensed in order to be a real estate sales representative over here. There are a number of courses availble, which last for about 3 weeks, then you have to wait for your exams to be marked (about 3 weeks), and then to have your license issued (about 1 week). This is the procedure for WA, though I know that my license will be recognised in all other states. Here are some website addresses to check out: http://www.reiwa.com.au, http://training.reiwa.com.au & http://www.reba.wa.gov.au Hope this helps
Guest basiltherat
Hi I have been looking into this also. Are there any courses that can be taken whilst still in the UK or do you need to be employed in realestate first whilst undertakuing your exams? You will have no problems at all in finding work on the Gold Coast in particular but be wary of which company you join. You could walk into any agent and 95% will give you a sales job on the spot. When you arrive on the Gold Coast you can do your sales certificate at Southport Taffe and get your sales certificate pretty quickly. I think my one was over 3 weeks doing 2 days a week so is pretty easy. Where abouts on the Coast are you aiming for and when do you arrive ? Steve Steve, I would have to check this out but I think I remember that you can do the sales course on line. You cannot work without the certificate so you cannot be employed before hand. You do not have to be in real estate to start your exams either and 95 % of the people on the courses have no real estate knowlege.
