Guest Vicki
Hi Ian, Anna and George, The 457 Business Long-Stay visa is for Australian or foreign companies who are looking to recruit an employee from overseas. They sponsor their employee for between 3 months and 4 years. It can be renewed and there are pathways to permanent residence for holders of 457 visas. For some applicants who are ineligible under the skilled migration scheme, it is a helpful first step to migration, however the applicants obviously need a job offer. If you can apply permanently, independently of an employer, you are not 'beholden' to that employer and have freedom to choose your place of work. Kind regards, Vicki Dr Vicki Clayton Migration Adviser (MARN: 0531177) AusArrivals Immigration Agency
