Guest AustrAnglian
Good thread guys. Am looking to bring my kit over when we move 1) sounds as though there is no point in bringing tanks - I'll flog them in the UK before we leave 2) what about weights - did folks bring theirs when they came over. Just wondering whether there are any import restrctions on lead? Cant wait - did a couple of dives at Julian Rocks when we were on holiday in Oz before. Loved the Wobbegongs - kind of like swimming Axminster Rugs  BTS I think the customs restrictions on lead apply to childrens toys and other products that youngsters might stick in their mouths - see link: http://www.customs.gov.au/webdata/resources/files/FS_Toys.pdf The other customs restrictions I've seen mainly relate to organic materials - seeds, untreated wood etc. I rented all the kit in Oz so don't know for sure, but I've not heard of any country including Australia having issues with bringing your own dive kit. Your shipping co. should have a definitive list of items that will be unwelcome in Australia. Cheers.
