Guest bl0ndejess Posted June 22, 2007 Share Posted June 22, 2007 I am currently at college studying a BTEC National Diploma in early years and my 1st year is almost complete of a 2 year course. i am then looking to go to uni to do a degree in teaching. however if we move to oz which is a serious development with me and my family i shall move during my time at uni! i was wondering how well i would get on in oz as a nursery nurse or teacher as dong all this training means alot to me at 17 as im making my futre and feel oz is the place to spend it for many reasons but is my career one of them? any comments thnx Jess xxxxxxxx Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

There is a good demand in Australia for qualified Childcare workers, and you won't, in my opinion, struggle to get work. Have a look at SEEK - Australia's no. 1 jobs, employment, career and recruitment site under childcare and you will see loads of work there. There are also specialist childcare employment agencies. We're not going until next year, but I will make sure that I have my qualifications validated before I go, so the Aussies will be able to see what level I am by their standards. My daughter, also 17yo, will be studying a Diploma in Children's Services when we get there. Sorry, don't know about teaching in Australia. Good luck with it all....where d'ya think you'll be going?
