RJBingham
Just curious how folks got on when they returned to the U.K in respect of finding a house to rent, particularly if you didn't have a job lined up for your return. Cheers.
Guest John Locke
RJ, It was a case of having 6 months rent to offer up front (some landlords asking for 12). We hit every estate agent in the area and told them our situation and had a place lined up within a week.

fantasia
I have found a rented house - knew I would probably have to pay 6 months up front and I think that's how I got approved. Do UK Estate Agents do electoral role/credit or reference checks from Australia or are they just happy to get 6 months rent in advance?
Guest adey
6 months rent is all we had to provide, they did a UK credit check as well and think that was basically it
