W.A self build?

Hi, can you in western australia buy ground and build your own house? Here in scotland when i do something to my house i get the people who i know from the site and get them to do the job. Homers we call it , just wondered if it was same there? I imagine you need planing and all that , anyone know?:idea: cheers stevie

I beleive you have to use 'certified' builders, etc.

You can't build your own house unless you have the relevent qualifications.

Hi thanks tom the pom , im a slater by trade and would not use any d i y er, i just want to know can you get your own bricky in at the weekends etc ?

Yes, you can get your own builder in.

However they tend to take their time from what I've heard.

Yes you can do a course and become an owner builder and project manage your own house. Have a look at this link

 

Builders Registration Board : Owner-Builders

 

We know builders in WA if you are having problems, who can do it as a cost plus project, also we know most of the major trades
