Pre-grant letter

Hi all,

As you may know, we are living in Australia on a 457 working visa. We applied for a 175 indepentant visa a while back and today we recieved a pre-grant letter!!!!

We know we have to leave the country for them to stamp the passports etc, but does having a pre-grant letter mean that we are defo going to get the visa or can they still say no? We are going to go to New Zealand. Do we, as British Passport holders have to get a tourist visa or not?

Why do these things always throw up more questions than answers?

Frank

Pre-grant means you get it as soon as you meet the requirements as stipulated in the letter (which is informing DIAC of your iternerary and leaving the country). You can enter NZ without visa (will be stamped in your passport upon arrival) but you do need to have a ticket for travel outbound (which I guess is not a problem as you want to be in Oz).

Congrats :)

Cheers,

Sylvia

I only know that Aussie doesn't need to apply for a New Sealand visa if they want to tranvel to it. Are your occupation listed in the CSL? Many thanks!
