r_balest
People, please help me... I am 25, working as a Network Engineer from Jakarta, Indonesia. I have worked at my current company [this is my first company] for almost three years [i started 19th July 2004]. I'd love to work in Australia because, I know it's a well-IT-developed country. I really love network jobs and I have to find somewhere I can develop myself more onto it... I have applied everywhere, seek, australia job site, but I really don't know what's wrong. Is it my lacking of experience or is it because of lacking the work permit... I really don't know what to do, because to make a work permit needs money, lots of, and obviously, my family also needs me, so I am kinda stuck here... If anybody go or went through the same thing, please advise and if anybody has a solution to it, I'd appreciate it... Thank you. Best Regards, r_balest
Guest wardy
Hi I dont think it is you it is the same for a lot of people applying. They wont even look at you as a candidate if you are not in Australia or have your visa in place. Can you speak to an migration agent there are some that come on here they may answer your question. Hope this helps Kaye PS welcome to poms in oz
calNgary
Hiya when applying for jobs we got very little response until we actually arrived in Australia. If there are plenty of vacancies in your proffesion on seek, cracker etc it may be a case of forking out for the visa and taking the chance like many of us have and are doing,,good luck with whatever you decide Cal x
Guest Rachel&Stu
Hiya:biggrin: If I've read your post correctly and you're in IT..... Maybe send a private message to Peter who posts on here regularly under post name ptlabs? He's an agent in NSW specialising in IT - maybe he has some contacts that would be useful for, say, obtaining a sponsorship visa? Cheers, Rachel:yes:
r_balest
Hmm.. thanks for the kind replies... Sponsorship visa.. I have read tons about those and I have registered my CV on freespirit, which they tell that they can help me obtain a sponsorship but haven't got any replies from them. @Rachel: is it okay if I PM him [Peter or ptlabs], since I barely know him, I think it's some kind of an impolite manner, isn't it? Anyway, I have been thinking to go there [Australia] to hitchhike a job. but then I am still working here, and definitely I can't gamble by going there and then comeback here, still unemployed. Thanks
Guest Rachel&Stu
Hi again! It is deffo ok to Private Message Peter at ptlabs. People PM me all the time who I don't know lol!!! (and I PM them, if I think they can help or advise me!) Peeps put their personal info on here, and wouldn't do so if they didn't want to get PMs so PM away to whomever you like!! Worst case scenario - they don't reply, but going from his previous posts, Peter comes across as a helpful sorta guy.... Good luck!
