Guest lisabella
Good morning all, My hubby and I are here on a 457 company sponsorship visa. How long do we have to wait before we can apply for citizenship? Thanks in advance Lisa
Guest boomerangpommie
You need to be a permanent resident in Australia for four years before you can become a citizen.

northernbird
Good morning all, My hubby and I are here on a 457 company sponsorship visa. How long do we have to wait before we can apply for citizenship? Thanks in advance Lisa  You need to get a PR visa first. They you have to gain 4 years of lawful residence which can be up to 3 years of temporary residence but the last 12 months before applying for citizenship has to be as a PR. The new rules at least count your temporary residence towards your 4 years.
