Andrea xx HI They do but you can't apply until you have a tax file no. A friend of mine however did get it backdated from the time she touched down. But we both have PR visa's I think this can make a different. There a few websites one being the aussie equivalent of social security here. http://www.familyassist.gov.au Hope this helps.
