Hi all,

My husband has applied for a job under the 457 visa sponshorship scheme and has been invited for interview next week. Good news as we didn't expect an interview as he wait for it 59 years of age next month. I am 39 and our children are 15 and 9 years of age. He is a pipe fitter/welder and is very skilled in his job and it is this that has probably got him the interview. Would he still get a visa at his age if he has a job to go to. We believe they are very short of the skills that he has to offer. We would hope to apply for permanent residency once there. Anyone any idea how long we would have to be there before applying for residency. Our son also has a heart condition for which he takes no medication and is only on yearly heart scans at the moment. He is what is termed symptom free and may always be we just don't know. Anyone any ideas on him getting a visa with the medical. Thanks.
