Don't be sorry jj, we all had to be new once!

It's a Qld State Sponsored 176 visa. It means you have permanent residency and are required to live in that state for a minimum of two years, which we will be anyway.

Keep in touch, it will be good to hear how your plans pan out.

Best wishes

Sheena

As far as I know, on any permanent visa, you can apply for citizenship after four years, used to be two until recently. Don't quote me on that, I'm not 100% sure.

The kids can't wait, especially as we're booked into a holiday village with pools, play parks and entertainment for the first six weeks! The younger ones seem to think they'll never have to eat a proper dinner again, and we're gonna live on BBQ's and picnics, and spend every waking moment swimming, building sand castles and hugging cute little koala bears!!

Sorry, forgot to say about the schools. I think I know which schools, but don't want to be enrolling anybody until I've been in person.

The oldest girl is at a very good school here, so that's my main concern really. As long as she settles well in a good school, I don't have any worries about the younger ones, they'll just plod along and make new friends.

Quick update - we've booked a trip to Oz for March - workforce think my wife should be able to get a state sponsored visa.

So time to take a trip and see if we like it lol
