Guest belfast-jj
Well done that man lol What type of visa ( sorry new to this ) jj...
Guest tony and sheena
Don't be sorry jj, we all had to be new once! It's a Qld State Sponsored 176 visa. It means you have permanent residency and are required to live in that state for a minimum of two years, which we will be anyway. Keep in touch, it will be good to hear how your plans pan out. Best wishes Sheena
Guest belfast-jj
Does that mean after 2yrs you get an Oz passport ? I bet you can't wait Sheena - hows the kids taking it all ( have you schools setup ) jj......
Guest tony and sheena
As far as I know, on any permanent visa, you can apply for citizenship after four years, used to be two until recently. Don't quote me on that, I'm not 100% sure. The kids can't wait, especially as we're booked into a holiday village with pools, play parks and entertainment for the first six weeks! The younger ones seem to think they'll never have to eat a proper dinner again, and we're gonna live on BBQ's and picnics, and spend every waking moment swimming, building sand castles and hugging cute little koala bears!! I think I know which schools, but don't want to be enrolling anybody until I've been in person. The oldest girl is at a very good school here, so that's my main concern really. As long as she settles well in a good school, I don't have any worries about the younger ones, they'll just plod along and make new friends.
