Guest HeatherD
Does anyone know if the panel doctor contacts your own doctor as a matter of course? Or does that only happen if you declare a medical condition that needs investigation? Am I likely to be refused entry if I have mild M.E, or does it depend on how bad the condition is? How strict is the process? I currently work as a teacher. Thanks, Heather
Guest guest17301
Hi Heather, I don't think the panel Dr contacts your GP unless you declare a condition. I would think though that if you have seen your GP and had a diagnosis of ME it's safer to declare it. If you work I wouldn't think that it would affect your chances. It may be worth visiting your GP and getting him to record that you're feeling much better at the minute in your notes...As you no doubt know ME is a difficult to diagnose condition and a lot of medics are sceptical about it's existance anyway! My cousin is a sufferer so I understand how it can affect your life. I would advise honesty especially if you have visited your GP and it's on your records Good luck x
Troy&Kim
Hi to you all, was wondering if anyone as passed the medicals and got the visa even though you've been diagnosed with ME (Myalgic Encephalopathy). Been to the Doc's and i'm going to have to see a specialist about. Really worried it could mess up our application as we are still waiting for a case officer even though they received our 176 visa on the 7th of June, so we have not had our meds yet. any info would be appreciated, after so many years of wanting to move, i just hope this will not affect our chances. cheers Troy:unsure:

Guest WEZLY80
Hi, Panel doctors do contact your GP if you have any issues. I had my medical last week and i had to declare on the application an operation i had as a child to remove a cyst from my arm. But the panel doctors have to contact my GP to confirm that it wasnt cancer. So take your GP,s details with you just incase.
