Guest junglejet
Hi there, My wife and I applied recently for a 176 visa. Recently there has been talk in the newspapers with the current economic slowdown, that the DIAC need to make some decisions in terms of whether they will infact reduce the number of visas granted. Question is whether they simply cut the number of visas granted in totality, or whether they do away with certain occupations on the SOL to achieve the reduction. Does anyone know, if the change comes by way of taking select occupations off of the SOL and that comes into effect on a certain date, would that affect all applications from that specific date onwards, OR would it affect already lodged applications that are waiting to be assigned to a CO? Thanks,
Guest Gollywobbler
Hi junglejet Whenever DIAC have made changes to the SOL in the past, they have always honoured visa applications that are already in the pipeline based on the earlier SOL. Fear not. DIAC would not treat you unfairly. This thing is not supposed to be a lottery or some other game of chance and DIAC do not treat it as if it were. Best wishes Gill
