prices of flights?

can anybody give me some advice on flights to oz,is it cheaper to book well in advance or leave it to the last minute.

hi there, we just booked our flights. £620 one way in june. may seem a lot but we'r going to cairns which is a little more difficult to get to plus we get 46kg luggage each. you need to fly via america to get that amount and thats with air new zealand.

hiya we booked last min through austravel and gor all 4 of us here for 1800gbp with double bagage allowance of 40kg ,,didnt fancy going via america too many bombs !!!

We phoned singapore airways today for four flights from manchester via singapore and a stop over then to brisbane with 30kgs of luggage each,total £1,900 in march, we have to prove to them that we have a five year visa.

We went over on 9th December 06 and came back on 12th January 07 (yes, it was hard to come back!) We booked 11 months in advance, which is when the majority of the flights go on sale, with Ebookers and travelled with Royal Brunei (20kgs each) and was told that the flight prices go up on the 10th December. Our flights were £680 each return to Perth which for that time of year was apparently quite good. The guy behind us in the queue at the airport had booked his in August and paid £890 for the same flight, same class. Sometimes you are just lucky but companies like Trailfinders can normally find you a good deal, dependent on how many stops you are willing to have.
