connaust
As is happening in UK, Australian house prices going through roof in major centres, e.g. latest news Sydney Squeeze is on for the renter crowd http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2007/02/10/1170524349571.html?from=top5 Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane are not cheap, many regional areas are significantly cheaper, but not necessarily long way from cities., e.g. Victoria Warnambool, Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Bairnsdale etc. and SE and South Coast NSW Albury/Wodonga, Batemans Bay, Ulladulla, Bega, Narooma etc. Other benefit with these samller cities are easier to get into the local community. Big city prices make Adelaide (and Hobart) attractive cities, and versus regional QLD, e.g. Townsville, Cairns etc., personally think better option i.e. Adelaide working city of 1 mill (versus transient retirees etc. in QLD), temperate Mediterranean climate and more liberal or less red neck National links for real estate: http://www.domain.com.au http://www.realestate.com.au Info on regional cities and towns: http://www.communityguide.com.au Cheers Andrew, http://www.aiec.biz
