Choice of Satnav's.???.

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody

Now that we're settled in we are thinking of investing in a Satnav to go touring around Oz. We've been to few places to look at them and they all seem to be much the same. Does anyone have any idea of which ones are the best, ie easiest to use  , or which ones to avoid?. Looking to spend around $400-$500.

Would appreciate any suggestions. Not particularly bothered about options such as bluetooth, just something to get us from A to B.

G'day from Tassie. Try to get one with NavTeq maps, apparently they are the best, apart from that they are much alike. Get one and use it around ares you are familiar with to get used to the way they work. Some people seem to think that when they say turn, it means, immediately. Mine has an arrow, or roundabout in the bottom left , with distance under it, that is to the next turn, the one in the bottom left corner is the one after that. But you only glance at it now and again as the voice tells you when to turn. Worth the money, especially on the mainland as when you set it properly it warns when a speed camera is coming up.
