Whitedio
Hey, I applied offshore about a year and half ago. Today I got an Email saying ¨Due to a transition from paper to electronic processing systems, we unfortunately misplaced your original paper application. If you kept a copy of form 147 and supporting documents at the time, could you please scan the documents, attach them to an email and send them to immigration.berlin@dfat.gov.au ¨ Does this mean I must restart my process? Or do I keep my spot in the queue so tho say?
paulhand
There is no ‘queue’ for 461 visas. I suspect that if you send through all the original papers as requested, Berlin will try and sort this out quickly.
Whitedio
okei, but there is a 30 month waiting process, does that start from when they first recive my papers? if not, im worried that iv waited a year and a half for the 30 monts process to start ? paulhand
It's not a 'waiting process' - it's a global average of the time that they are currently taking to process 75-90% of all applications. Each embassy processes at a different pace and in the last 18 months they have held back on processing offshore 461s as 461 visa holders have to obtain a travel exemption at the moment. As I said - if you provide the papers requested, I expect they will move relatively swiftly, as they seem to be looking at your application now.
