Guest The Pom Queen
The first cyclone of the year is forming off the Gulf of Capentaria. I am presuming this is what will be causing the focused 600ml of rain in Townsville next week.
Bobj
Hopefully, a very short lived one, judging by the BOM map. Mt Isa might get a bit of rain, too. Cheers, Bobj.
calNgary
Well my youngest is just passing through Mackay on her way to a few days in Airlie Beach with her boyfriend and some friends and i am pooping myself at the distance she is driving so really hope she misses the storms when camping (and driving). They stayed in Rocky last night after setting off yesterday morning and i will stress more if a cyclone hits ,so maybe best if i go and bury my head in the sand for a few days... Why oh why do kids grow up so fast now a days? Cal x

Cal x I think Airlie will be fine, if she was heading to Cairns I’d stress, I saw the Bruce was already cut off and flooding in Cairns, Ingham etc. It looks like it will be heading to Cardwell. Poor Cardwell seems to have a magnet that pulls all the cyclones towards it.
Bobj
The ‘low’ that was the cyclone, has been hovering over the Whitsunday, Mackay region all week and delivered a total of 7 inches of rain in our local area. Proserpine received 6 inches for the 24 hours.yesterday alone. Cheers, Bobj.
