insiya1008
Hi All, I have just completed the 4th year of residency in Australia and am now eligible to start the citizenship process. I am currently in the biggest dilemma - how to go about changing my name after marriage. I have been married 4 years but used my maiden name so far. Now that I am applying for a citizenship I want to take my husband's surname but just not sure what documents will be needed to prove the change of name. I have an Indian Passport, is it required to change my name in my Indian Passport since I will be giving it away in any case. What evidence will I have to provide if I wish to use my husbands surname on my citizenship application? Any help is appreciated. Thank you! Kris9
What about your Marriage Certificate. Usually that's the doc they need for your name change.
