Hello everyone, I have just become eligible to apply for my citizenship. Does anyone know what evidence documents are required to prove a name change after marriage, on the citizenship application? I am planning to take my husbands name on my Aussie passport, but not sure if I need to change it on my origin country's passport first. Thank you.

Hi All, I have just completed the 4th year of residency in Australia and am now eligible to start the citizenship process. I am currently in the biggest dilemma - how to go about changing my name after marriage. I have been married 4 years but used my maiden name so far. Now that I am applying for a citizenship I want to take my husband's surname but just not sure what documents will be needed to prove the change of name. I have an Indian Passport, is it required to change my name in my Indian Passport since I will be giving it away in any case. What evidence will I have to provide if I wish to use my husbands surname on my citizenship application? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
