jlai928
Hi all, Really want to bring my partner over (have specified in initial student application that this may be the case). What counts as proof if we don't share finances? Are the 12 month rules lenient? Edited October 3, 2019 by jlai928
ali
You need to demonstrate that you have been in a defacto relationship (essentially - like being married), Have an ongoing committed relationship, Live together (or do not live apart permanently). People provide proof by showing e.g. rental agreements in both names, bills in both names, shared accounts, photo's, invitations (to both of you), holiday bookings/flights e.g over a period of time to prove the longevity of the relationship, statements from friends/family giving evidence of how you met - phone records, being named as beneficiaries in each others wills. Regarding your question re leniency - it may be better if you tell people your circumstances so that they can offer an opinion.
