I'm considering doing this, since it costs about 50% to get a container from house to Sydney harbour. After arrival in Sydney I don't have a clue about costs or procedures. The port costs are difficult to assess and can be very high. I've only known one person who did it and the total cost ended up being more than if he'd got the removalist to do it.
