Loxxy
Hi there We're planning to move to Perth next January and move our 2 dogs over with us. I am keen to book them onto the Quantas direct flight to Perth from UK to minimise flight time etc, but I've read that the mandatory 10 day quarantine centre in Perth has closed. Does this mean my poor dogs will have to take another flight over to the other side of Oz to complete their quarantine, only to then have to fly back to Perth again?? Surely not?! All advice much appreciated!!
Guest The Pom Queen
Hi @Loxxy your babies will only be allowed to fly direct in to Melbourne. They will then spend 10 days in quarantine and then you can fly them over to Perth.
VERYSTORMY
You need to get the shipping organised ASAP as you are already pushing it if you haven't got the processing started - they recommend six months
Guest The Pom Queen
Loxxy it is a very long hard process, I’ve just imported a boy from Hungary and in the end had to get Petair to help and Dogtainers at this end. Take a look here http://www.agriculture.gov.au/cats-dogs/step-by-step-guides/category-3-step-by-step-guide-for-dogs For example if you are looking at importing them over say on the 7th January here is a step by step date to what needs doing when. So if you haven’t started the process already you are nearly 3 months behind which means it’s going to be April at the earliest before they can come. Ive had a dog in Serbia now stuck there for over 12 months and I bet it’s going to be another 3 months before she arrives at the earliest due to bloods being done wrong and rabies etc.
