We are moving to the Newcastle area, early 2019 and looking at rentals but obviously securing a rental will take a few weeks once we arrive. Although I do think if you contacted a motel/apartment direct and asked for a 4 week rate you may strike lucky. When I had a major op down in Sydney we asked for a 3 month rate on a 2 bed apartment in Darling Harbour, I can’t remember the exact figure but we got it for around $700 a week when the rack rate was $450 a night.
