Citizenship - Teenagers, & Over 60's

We became eligible and so I applied for Citizenship September 2017 which was duly acknowledged. We are a family of 3 which consists of me (over 60) and I adopted 2 teenage boys (15 & 17).

I received an email on Saturday 23 December 2017 inviting my eldest son to his interview on 10 January 2018. He was told at the interview that he had passed and congratulated him. He received a letter via post in May addressed only to him to welcome him to Australia and that the local council will contact him with a date for the ceremony within the next 6 months.

What we haven't been told is when will the remaining two of us find out ?

Citizenship information states that children under 16 and adults over 60 do not need to sit the citizenship test but what is the process for us ?  I rang the department of immigration for assistance but received no answer to the above questions only that we are all processed on a merit basis. Is this the way all families are processed i.e. one by one?

Has anyone got a similar experience?

I would try calling the office where your son took his test. Goodness only knows how these things work!  When we took our test the lady brought up my account with all applicants on it including my son who already has citizenship so they should be able to tell you.  Keep calling till you find someone who can be bothered.
