Harmaye
We’ve just imported our car (ML350) into NSW but having difficulty finding a company that will comprehensively insure imported cars. We didn’t expect this issue. Can anyone recommend an insurance company please? Thanks!
rammygirl
We use Shannon’s for our imported Audi TT, although it is sort of a hobby car with low mileage and not used to commute every day. Think they have some rules re that but check. They insured it from the VIN plate before it had an Aus registration so no issue being an import. And it isn’t expensive. Harmaye
rammygirl, Thanks so much for the steer to Shannon’s. We got our insurance and at a good price. They were great to deal with! Thanks!
rammygirl
Glad to hear! When someone ran into the back of the car and we needed to claim they were great too. The premiums haven’t increased either.
fosseboy
We found that Shannon’s was the only Company that would insure our Clio Sport and Volvo XC60. RAC disappointingly wouldn’t. Since then, we have sold our imports as getting spares and service was difficult when we moved away from Perth City, but we stayed with Shannon’s who give great service and good premiums. Guest The Pom Queen
Shannon’s do seem to get a good rep. I didn’t realise they did ordinary policies.
fosseboy
We also insured our house and contents with Shannon’s and got a discount. Surprisingly, RAC wouldn’t insure the first house we moved to as it didn’t have window locks. When we asked them for a security survey, they refused as the house had asbestos facia boards (as many houses do in Australia).
