woody2709
Hey everyone. Does anybody have any rough costs of getting enrolled in the gap training for general electrician once onshore? Hopefully heading out in the next few months and curios of how much I'll need to lay out licencing wise. Thanks
Jsmull87
I think it’s around $2000 - $2500 onshore. Only briefly looked though as I’m not quite at that point yet. The down under centre let you start it in the U.K. but it’s around $4000.
woody2709
Thanks for your reply. Where did you find the information online? I've looked on many sites and can only find electrical licence application forms but not much of the gap training. I did my skills assessment with the downundercentre last year and knew their costs were rather high so thought id wait to be onshore and in employment

mrsmac
There is good information about GAP Training for each state on the TRA (Trades Recognition Australia) website. http://www.tradesrecognitionaustralia.gov.au/Programs/Pages/Electricians.aspx#
Pozza
The 3 week course in north Sydney is $3500 and I think twice a year for the gap training.
