BillieJ Posted April 5, 2018 Share Posted April 5, 2018 Hi, Just after some advice. I'm an Australian citizen and have been lucky enough to get a partner visa for my Fiance. The visa was granted sooner than we thought, we have booked our flights and have started the process of the move. Has anyone recently moved from UK to Brisbane, if so how much money did you save to take? We have already paid for flights and have money aside for shipping some goods but we are unsure as to how much money we would need. We are thinking £10,00 which is approx $18,000 - is this going to be enough? We are lucky enough to be able to stay with family until we find jobs so we do not have the expense of renting a property prior to finding jobs. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Processing seems to be handled pretty quickly at present. Some people are getting grants within a couple of months. Our's took 4 months - we submitted at the end of October and it was granted in February. We did however have ALOT of information and proof of our relationship gathered prior to submitted the application, we did spend along time writing statements and gathering information prior to hitting the submit button - hope this helps!
