Australian has added 3 caveat while applying to this category.

  • an annual turnover of less than AUD$1M
  • fewer than five employees
  • a nominated base salary of less than AUD$90,000.  Can somebody please clarify how is this nominated base salary computed. I am from India and given current exchange rate it would be 4.5 Million in my local currency.

The caveats relate to the sponsoring employer and the job you are being offered, not your current job in India.

Hi Raul,

Im about to lodge my skills assessment with VETASSESS. I have a Bachelor of Business and Commerce Degree- (Majors in Finance and Economics, Minors: Management, Accounting) and now I have 1 year experience working as an associate Project manager in Finance and IT. I just need some guidance as to whether I have a shot at securing a successful skills assessment? I have with me employment references with this role and in them my direct boss has listed out my duties and they are similar/same as what is on VETASSESS. The same is with my previous roles at uni and and post uni. Should I lodge my skills assessment or seek advice from VETASSESS first in regards to the employment?

Appreciate any feedback on this.

It would depend on how closely related the duties of your role as a Project manager in Finance and IT and your qualification are to the occupation of a Management Consultant.

The other issue you may have is that with no employment experience to claim points for, you will probably struggle to gain enough points to be invited for a 189 visa.

Hi guys, I'm a newbie here. But as user @NQ679 I also want to be assessed by VETASSESS for Management Consultant occupation and I graduated from the faculty of Law (Not in Australia), but I have 5 years of experience as a business analyst in the financial sector. So, as I understood, 3 years will be cut off from my experience in that field by VETASSESS because my qualification is not relevant to an area in which I educated.
As I know for now my options are 189/190/489.
I can't gain enough points for 189 because I must have at least 6 years of experience, 3 of which will be cut off, (so only 5 points I will gain for my experience), I'm 27 years old (so 30 points will be gained for it), i have a bachelor degree (15 points), and I passed PTE-A all for 65+ (so 10 points). Overall with my current experience at this occupation, I gain 55 points.
If I want to apply for 189 visa I need to have 1 more year of experience and pass PTE all for 8, and gain 70 points for migration process (if we take into account that it is already 1 year roughly, when people can't get invitations because of least than 70 points)
So temporarily I'm out of 189 visa.
190 could be the best option too, maybe. But States didn't open acceptance for this occupation if they are eligible for it now (Canberra and NT)
So only 489 is an option for now. But only Tasmania because SA set impossible conditions for apply, at least for me. They want incredibly high scores.

What do you think, guys?
@Raul Senise , is my research and results of analysing true? Or maybe smth, that I missed?

P.S. @NQ679 would be glad to be in contact with you. We have the common aim :)
