LJL
Hi All, I hold a site managers qualification and have been working in a site manager/project manager role for around 6 years. I am also a qualified carpenter. I have looked on the SOL and Carpenter is on there but the nearest to my current role is Construction Project Manager. I do not possess the qualifications to apply for the latter but as I have not been employed as a carpenter for many years how do I go about applying for a 189 visa under this umbrella? Many thanks Edited January 10, 2018 by LJL

LJL
Does anyone have any info on this? Shall I apply as a carpenter and just change my CV to state I have been working as a carpenter only?

Hi, My query is that is it the best option to alter my CV to state I have been working as a carpenter rather than a site manager? I'm a qualified carpenter but I've been working in a management position for the past 6 or so years.
Ccfc17
@LJL did you apply as SM?
Newtopa
It depends what criteria the assessing authority use. I went through engineers Australia and they have a booklet on the criteria and what they are looking for. I trained as a mechanical engineer (so initially thought I would use that classification) but have spent the last 12 years working in management. Against the criteria, I was qualified as an engineer but could not demonstrate that I was an engineer (I was paid too much and my job titles did not fit). I ended up applying as an Engineering Manager, and against the criteria only 7 years of the last 10 qualified as an Engineering Manager.
