nicholiverpool
Hi, we are just looking at when is best to make the move. Still very early days for us haven't yet submitted eoi but just looking for when people reccomend is the best time to go over. We have two children so school needs to be considered. Also prices of holiday rentals and best time to get a rental home. I know some parts of the year are harder to find rentals etc.
Quoll
Avoid the period end November to end January for sure and probably a month either side so end Oct through to end Feb would be better unless your kids are 16 or just about to turn 16 in which case you need to have the kids in school he da after Australia Day. Otherwise doesn't really matter when you enrol the kids in school.
NicF
Where are you moving to? Peak season for holiday rentals in a lot of the country will be the November to February period, which is summer and school holidays, but if you were planning to move to Far North Queensland or similar peak holiday times are different (around June to September I think but 100% sure) as people go to escape winter in the colder parts of the country. nicholiverpool
We are moving to Brisbane. So ideally need to be here before school starts but I knew some months would be harder being summer x
Quoll
It really doesn't matter that you get there before school starts - kids start school all through the year, not necessarily at the start of the year or even the start of term, heck, many don't even start at the beginning of the week. Once you have a permanent address it's easy to get your kids into the zoned school, they're obliged to take kids in their area.
