That's nice and tidy.

Interesting take home differential when switching between Resident and Non-Resident. I'm likely to land November time on a Partner Visa (Temp initially.) Does that eman i'll get a higher tax still for the first half a tax year I'm there?

No as you will be a resident for tax purposes by the sounds of it, your tax free threshold will be slightly lower though.

Yes a temporary resident is still a resident. The tax free allowance is pro-rated (unlike in the UK) so you only get your share of it for the time you're in the country, but the good news is none of the other tax bands are pro-rated so for example you still get $18,800 taxed at 19%. Assuming you only work for half the year you'll get a big tax refund at the end of the year as the tax deducted will have only taken into account $9,400 of the 19% band and taxed you at higher rates on the remainder (and the same goes for each of the tax bands above that).
