457 de facto to PR Options

Hi

I've been living in OZ for nearly a year now as a de factor partner on my girlfriend's 457.

I have been employed in a skilled profession for 11 months of that time.

I would like to go for a PR visa and am wondering what options I have.

As I understand there is a 186 visa with a transitional stream (work for 2 years in Oz).

Would I be eligable for this one? are there any other options worth considering?

thanks

From what you have posted it is not possible to offer a considered opinion.

may I suggest that you consult a registered migration agent for an assessment of your viable visa strategies?

You cannot go through the transitional stream unless you have been sponsored on the 457 visa, being a secondary holder is not sufficient. There is a direct entry stream for the 186 visa but this would require a skills assessment and it is either two or three years experience in the occupation. Perhaps 186 sponosrhsip is a possibility for your partner?
