Hi I've been living in OZ for nearly a year now as a de factor partner on my girlfriend's 457. I have been employed in a skilled profession for 11 months of that time. I would like to go for a PR visa and am wondering what options I have. As I understand there is a 186 visa with a transitional stream (work for 2 years in Oz). Would I be eligable for this one? are there any other options worth considering? thanks

Hi I've been on my partners 457 visa while living and working in Sydney for the last 6 months. I want to move to PR and ultimately get an Oz passport at some point. Does anyone know the quickest and cheapest way to go about this? I really don't know the options available. Thanks!

I'm planning to get out to Sydney as a De Facto partner on my girlfriend's (hopefully soon to be granted) 457. I am architect / developer / designer with over 10 years experience in Oracle and Java with Web Technologies (jQuery etc.). I am wondering what the general market looks like at the moment for these types of skills? In addition do you see it being an issue that I am over on a De Facto and not a PR?
