dvarghese
Hi members, I have applied under general skill migration with 60 points. EOI on 22/1/2016, submitted all documents for my visa on 22/2/2016. Since then until today the status of application is shown as "application received." Mine is an offshore application. I haven't got any update with a case officer allotment or anything. Does it take more than 3 months for the allotment of a case officer? Has anyone got a idea on how long it takes for the 189 visa issue kept these days? I am getting a bit more frustrated each day as there is no updates on my visa. please pass me some information, if anyone knows about it. louloubelle
I submitted my visa application for my 189 on the 22/02/16. We have used an agent and we heard absolutely nothing until last week where they requested some more info regarding husband's police checks which we provided and then today we got our visa grant so I wouldn't worry. I was feeling exactly the same only yesterday. Fingers crossed you will hear any day
dvarghese
Hi, Thankyou for your reply. Just a doubt, even after 3 months of applying visa the status on the immigration account shows that"application received". Does that mean that my application is not yet looked or do they not update the status, as it should be done?
Leanne Stevens
DIBP will only update the status after they have either requested further information or made a decision on the visa. It's within processing times; although I have found the 189's to be fairly quick in the last few months.
dvarghese
Hi Leanne Stevens, Thank you for the info... So is there any chance that my applications are looked at? If they do an employement check does that take long for the grant? I have previously worked in the middle east( dubai). Fingers crossed....cant be more patient
Theresa13
I have attached my signature with timeframe, although I might add this was an extremely simple application. For example same employer for 10 years, no convictions and we all passed medical without referral.
Guest Priscilla101
Hey. There is a Jan applicants 189 thread. There are several on there waiting. Apparently once they ask you for more info (which seems to happen in every case) the 3 month timeline can be extended so I wouldn't worry bout it just yet. Look for the thread and say hi. Theresa13
Priscilla101 I started the Jan applicants thread but just thought my timeline may help dvarghese as it is detailed.
