Maggie2012
Just wanting to know about people's experience with beak ins on the Gold Coast. A lot of places mention the "security windows" on properties. Is this something to consider moving to the GC? Any experience with break ins in the northern GC, in newer suburbs, such as Coomera? Any feedback would be great since such data is not exactly off the shelves....
Guest
Security Windows will be regularly mentioned because they are a feature. People want to leave the windows open due to the weather. Now having Windows wide open with no screen is obviously a security risk. Saying that the Gold coast has its dodgy areas so check out the neighborhood. rosiew
In warmer parts of Australia the flyscreens often feature security mesh. It is just so you can leave the windows open - remember most people here sleep on the ground floor.
steveNem
If you want to leave windows open at night in the summer then security screens are very useful and definitely a feature. Places of high density living such as coomera will always have a risk of break ins. It can be easy pickings. But anywhere does, in any city in any country. calNgary
Security screens as someone mentioned are like an 'optional extra' a selling point on your home... The latest and apparently 'best' is 'Crimsafe', a screen that cannot be broken, damaged etc. However, some GC areas do have higher crime rates than others and also lots of traffic too, so if your interested in the GC do lots of reading up first ,sign up to the GC news on line or on Facebook as this will help you short list areas to check out. There are some places ,so i dont think you would have an issue finding a suburb that suits. Cal x
