cheese n pickle
Hi Can't advise on work/wages but you'll need to do the Construction Induction (White card training) to work on construction sites. http://www.chisholm.edu.au/Courses/Short_course/Construction_Induction_White_Card
Pitto
If your looking for kind of construction work go to Sydney mate, I'm a sparky from the UK I've been in Melbourne for 8 months and there's not a lot going on here all the work is in Sydney there crying out for tradespeople. I'm heading up there my self I'm going on the rail project it's a 16billion dollar scheme. If your a sub contractor you can charge good rates. I've had to get my electrics trade recognised over here that's cost me $2500 not to sure for bricklaying tho.
jaq4chop
Hi, I am a Bricky in Melbourne. We have been here for 7 years and I have not had any problems getting work. Wage is approx $1 a brick or $45 an hour. Where in Melbourne are you heading? Happy to chat if you want more info.
