lisat
hey everyone. first things first, we are a family of 5, myself, my husband (35 welder fabricator applying for visa) and our 3 sons 8,6,2 my first question is do i need a migration agent or am i able to do this? I'm just worried ill miss a vital piece of the skill assessment documents needed!! would you be able to give me a rough guide price of how much they are? we will be applying for a 189 welder fabricator my husband has over 10 years experience in the same job, we have all his certificates, p60's from 2006 (can you get copies of earlier if need do you know?) I'm on the understanding for his skills to be assessed he needs to supply copies (signed) of all certificates relating to his trade/job copies of his p60's copy of passport headed letter from his boss stating his roll etc (any other ideas what to include please let me know) receipt of payment completed application form have i got everything? he will then also do the english test to bump his point (do this before or after skills assessed) any help and guidance would be much appreciated thanks for taking the time to read my essay
CNC FABS
They will want to see proof of formal training. Then you will looking at a Vetasses practical test, unless you have a Australian AQF3. English test to get points. No medical issues ?. There is a fair bit of cost there. Yes you can do it all yourself if your organised enough or spend £2-3k with an agent. I was happy to do the later to make sure I didn't make any mistakes.

Azh
with an agent fee, skills assessment, English tests(I failed twice) and visa costs, I would say it's cost me about 5k Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
CNC FABS
If you reads through all the requirements, it can send you into a brain spin very easy. If you served a formal apprenticeship that's good, otherwise you have to claim informal training for 5 years, then experience starts from AFTER that time. When I was doing mine in 2012, you had to do a practical test day, normally in London and they only ran about 4 a year for fabrication trades. As I went the route of getting the AQF3 first, I didn't need to. Although I did have to sit an on line assessment for 2 hours from Australia. I went this route, as had run a business for 15 years and so very informal. With all meds, visa, agent, AQF fees, I spent close to £8k. Time line as below. lisat
thank you, ill read into it more, (hopefully without the head spin lol) i see your assessment was with vetasses, his will be through TRA i guess its changed assessor since you applied, ah so the first 5yrs after you qualified aren't classed as they are basically learning your trade gaining experience, am i right? he qualified in 2001/
Azh
For me as a chef, I could claim training as experience! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
