Azh
It's been a while since I was there on WHV but.. Work wise is fine as long as you are willing to do the dirty work (fruit picking.. Farm work etc..) £4000 is loads, that's about 3200ish more than I took

CurtisV
Thanks for the replies, seems like £4000 each is a safe budget to have also we are looking for a car so it will probably be less, Danny we are starting in Sydney and planning to head north to cairns whilst looking for work on the way, how about yourself ??? CurtisV
Plan is to live in hostels in Sydney. if we can't find anything in Sydney we will hopefully have a car to drive to cairns and look for work and places to stay there. By that time it'll be getting close to spring and the better weather hopefully
Skani
As we are travelling in the Australian winter will it be harder to find work?? We are thinking of buying of purchasing a cheap car, does it cost much to insure? Curtis The size of Australia means it contains many different climate zones. The northern areas have a tropical climate pattern ....so not a winter as you would know it. Their seasons are divided into wet and dry - hot and wet in summer and hot and dry in Australia's winter months. Because of the climate variations throughout the country you could find work at any time of the year if you plan your travels accordingly. This harvest trail website will give you plenty of information on what's available where. http://jobsearch.gov.au/harvesttrail/search.aspx#search.aspx?%5Bobject%20Object%5D&_suid=14531569373720390067377127707 If you are looking for tourism/hospitality jobs, the tourist season up north is also the dry "winter" months. Car insurance varies a lot according to type of vehicle, age of drivers etc. This website will give you a guide: http://www.canstar.com.au/car-insurance/
