New Job-Transfer of 457 ...Is this normal?

Im concerned. OH applied for a job, had the interview and has been told he's got the job. This will involve transferring the sponsor for our 457 visas.

Paper work arrived on Friday minus the all important offer letter/contract.

So he contact the employer and was told he needs to complete all the employment paperwork and send copies of our visas.

They will then speak to the legal team and once it's all been processed they will send an offer letter.

So we have no verbal or written confirmation of job title, hours of work, salary etc but they want to start the transfer of visa.

Is this normal? it seems like a bit of a leap of faith to me?

When we've taken over a 457 sponsorship and nominated a new employee we've had to include a copy of the (signed) employee agreement/contract as part of the nomination application. The most recent nomination we completed was about 5 weeks ago. Maybe there's a way around it, but it's not something I've come across before.
