LauraMH
Hello, I have been in Aus for nearly 3 years, on employer sponsored 457. In July 2015 I applied for 186 but I am now under a new management team and let's just say that things are not going well and I may lose my job soon, despite our best efforts to make the relationship work out. I have made enquiries regarding timing for the 186 approval and I could very possibly be leaving my employer before the 186 is granted. If I leave my current employer the 186 application will be withdrawn. Does this mean I revert back to my 457, and find another employer to pick it up? Or am I left with no visa at all and need to re-apply just to get a new 457? Thanks for any info you can provide
MaggieMay24
Assuming your 457 hasn't expired, you'd remain on that visa. You'd have 90 days to find another employer to take over the nomination or you'd need to apply for another visa. Failing either of those, you'd need to leave Australia. Joy Hay
I agree with MaggieMay24. If your 457 visa is still valid, you remain on this visa if you withdraw the 186. If your 457 has expired and you are now on a Bridging Visa A, this limits the visas you are able to lodge onshore. Joy
