benj1980
You've written this twice? All the info you will need is on the AITSL website. But to give you a rough idea... 4 years university education in which you can provide university certificates and transcripts You also need to prove that as part of a teacher training course you completed a minimum of 45 days supervised training If AITSL are happy with your skills and experience then you will gain points which can be used as part of an EOI. Have you checked your points on the Immi website? Will you need to take an English test?

Hugohound
Hi ben, could you help with the below? Hello, just looking for a bit of advice please. we are looking to emigrate to WA. My partner is a primary school teacher (3-7) and has completed a 3 year education studies degree and then a further 1 year PGCE (3-7). She has worked as a teacher now for one year. Prior to this whilst at college ect she worked for a pre school as a nursery nurse/play assistant, working around 20 hours per week. In relation to the skills assessment I see no issue from looking into the AITSL requirements, but in relation to experience she has only worked as a teacher for 1 year and I understand you need at least 3 for visa applications My question is would the pre school work she completed at college count towards the experience as its a similar occupation that she has developed and gained further qualifications? any help would be appreciated. thank you. benj1980
I don't believe you need 3 years experience for a visa application, you just need to be suitably qualified. I don't think pre qualification experience would be sufficient in any case. Good on your partner for skilling up!
Hugohound
Thanks for your help. did you have any problems with AITSL? Thank you
benj1980
Yes I did originally! If you have the 45 days teaching placement, transcripts to prove the content of the course and 4 years HE education you should be ok. I had a transcript which they deemed unacceptable. Getting a primary job is difficult at the moment however throughout Australia.
