UK Child Trust Funds / Junior ISA's

Hi

I appreciate this is pretty new but in the UK as of April 5th 2015, you are now allowed to transfer your children's CTF's into Junior ISA's. However, given that I am cutting my ties to the UK - is there an equivalent over here? If I were to transfer these small sums of money anywhere - wouldn't it make more sense to move them to Oz?

Cheers for any thoughts on the subject.

Many thanks for bringing the subject up. My daughter has a child trust fund too. I'm still in the U.K and hadn't even heard of the ISA option. Hope someone in the know answers soon. Other than that I was just going to keep it the same and put it to her grandparent address.

Hi

Just been looking at the site and it doesn't appear that you can transfer, although you best check for yourself.[h=2]Who can get a Junior ISA[/h]Your child can have a Junior ISA if they:

  • are under 18
  • live in the UK

You can’t open a Junior ISA if you already have a Child Trust Fund.

There is no mention of transferring from CTF to ISA
