jimbo889
Hi Folks, Has anyone had any experience with a Same-Sex 457 defacto visa? here's the facts; - We've been in long distance for 9 months and I've visited my partner in Taiwan. - I have passport stamps to prove this including hotel stays, visits and all social media communication. - My partner will come to Australia on a holiday/visit me for an initial 3 months and may plan another 3 months. My partner has a 12 month ETA but has to leave every 3 months. My partner will be coming across on a holiday visa initially. Any help on collating the correct evidence, what we need etc, bank accounts/social media. On a defacto 457, we need to live together for 6 months, can you see there being any issues? As much help/advice as possible would be great. Thanks. J
ozpursuit
hi @jimbo889 i came here with my partner as my secondary applicant on a skilled migrant visa. it's crucial that you've lived together for a minimum of 12 months. otherwise, as what i've researched, it most likely will not be approved. good luck! VERYSTORMY
For a 457, the defecto requirement is only 6 months. However, you must be defacto - in effect married except for the piece of paper. You will need to establish this with evidence such as household bills.
