joanna123
Hi - Please help! I'm going to try and do this on my own (no agent). It's a straightforward spousal visa for my Australian husband. We meet the criteria. My question is: Which application form do we need? Is it the ‘family of a settled person' visa? https://www.gov.uk/join-family-in-uk The reason i ask, is that it says it's a visa for those wanting to join their partner living in the UK permanently.. I am a British Citizen but have lived here in Australia for 12 years.. Many thanks! Jo.

Yes you're in the right place. From Australia you have to use the online application https://www.gov.uk/apply-uk-visa Tip: on that form, it asks who is sponsoring you and there's no option for "spouse" so you have to choose "relative" and explain it in the comments at the end. joanna123
Thanks Marissa - how did the biometric interview go? When do you think you'll get a decision? Have you booked flights yet or are you waiting for visa?
Marisawright
Thanks Marissa - how did the biometric interview go? When do you think you'll get a decision? Have you booked flights yet or are you waiting for visa? Hi Joanna, all went well and the visa came through in less than a month! However we believed what they told us - that it would take THREE months - so we had already made commitments which means we can't leave till late April. One important tip - you need to fill in Appendix 2, which is not even mentioned in the online application.

Marisawright
Also, how did you present your docs? in a file? Sorry, may be a bit late to answer, but it really doesn't matter how you present the docs - he will sit down with the officer and they will go through the documents together one by one. I hope you completed Appendix 2?
joanna123
Hi Marissa - not late to answer, thank you so much Yes, we have Appendix 2, although about to re-write it so it's legible! x
