lovejarora Posted December 4, 2014 Share Posted December 4, 2014 Hey Guys, Finally, I lodged EOI application for myself and my wife. I have a few concerns though, hopefully you guys can help. 1. I mentioned 1 where they ask, if you wish to include your family member and then selected yes where they ask you, would your partner be accompanying you in your future application. 2. My skills assessment was done on 6th Feb 2014 and by then my total exp. was rounding up to 4 years and 3 months but yesterday when I filled the experience section, it awarded me 5 points for it, I know that now my total work-ex goes above 5 years but the exp after the assessment is not assessed, although, it is at the same company. The additional experience after your skills assessment doesn't need to be assessed separately. The EOI system adjusts it automatically based on the dates you have provided. It does the same for age. I wanted to include my wife in my application, but wasn't sure how to do that, yesterday when filled the EOI application, the section where they ask you "Do you wish to include any family members" i Said yes and selected "1". The following questions asks " Would your partner be accompanying you in the future application" I said yes. Was it the correct way to do it ?? 2 . Okay, to prove I will just have to attach the latest pay slips ? or would I have to get the refreshed experience letter although, nothing has changed. Thanks a lot!! Ozmaniac Posted December 4, 2014 Share Posted December 4, 2014 You get 5 points for experience when you have worked for at least three but less than five years at the required skill level and that appears to be what you have been credited with on your EOI. If it had credited you with 10 points (between 5 and under 8 years), that would have been wrong but 5 points for 3+ years sounds right to me. lovejarora Posted December 4, 2014 Author Share Posted December 4, 2014 You are right, but, don't they deduct 2 years out of the total experience for IT occupations, at least, that is what I was told of by Australian Computer Society but they also say at the end it is the final decision of Australian Immigration Department to award points. Ozmaniac Posted December 4, 2014 Share Posted December 4, 2014 Ah! I didn't know it was an IT occupation assessed by ACS. In that case, you should immediately (before the invitation round on 5/12 which starts only 1 hour 45 minutes from now) go to your EOI and change your work experience start date to the Skill Requirement Met date (or some similar term) from your ACS assessment letter. I checked my EOI application briefly, I was asked to tell my employment history and that is exactly what I did. I was not asked anything else other than that. A friend of mine, got his PR two weeks back, I checked with him he has a total of 3.5 years of experience and he did the same thing, whereas, he was awarded 60 points. I don't know what to do. You can simply modify your EOI, or even create a new one and forget about the old one (or delete/retire the old one) Just make sure you entered the data correctly as I highly doubt it was a system error/problem. Maybe you filled it in saying it was "australian experience" instead of "offshore experience"? That would explain the 5 points. It would be a bigger issue if it was your visa lodging application, and even then you can correct it by filling some forms and there would be any problems. gunflame Posted December 4, 2014 Share Posted December 4, 2014 If you got invited you just have to let it lapse (it takes 2 month for the EOI to lapse). Just create a new EOI with the correct information and ignore the invitation you received from the old one. If you need advice about your experience please post the EXACT wording of your ACS letter. gunflame Posted December 4, 2014 Share Posted December 4, 2014 Please post your ACS letter. Did you get an skill assessment from ACS? Did you get an skill assessment from somewhere else? I only need to see the exact wordings and dates, I don't need your personal information. Again DO NOT WORRY, everything can EASILY be fixed during the EOI. The real problems arise when or after you have made the visa payment, before that every mistake can be corrected with little or zero negative consecuences. If you have between 3 to 5 years of experience (3.00 to 4.99 years) you get 5 points. ACS assessed your experience as RELEVANT during those periods so you get 5 points. gunflame Posted December 4, 2014 Share Posted December 4, 2014 SORRY I MADE A MISTAKE. You are right, you don't have points for experience. You have to let the EOI lapse (2 months) or you can retire/delete it. Just make a new one, and you can do that today. You have to split your work experience in 3 periods: Dates: 06/10 - 06/12 (2yrs 0mths) - NOT RELEVANT Dates: 07/12 - 10/12 (0 yrs 4mths) - RELEVANT Dates: 10/12 - 09/13 (0yrs 11mths) - RELEVANT Or could be: Block 3: 10/12 - 12/14 (2yrs 2 mths) - RELEVANT (instead of the last one if you still have the same job). Another option is to put all your experience as NOT-RELEVANT. The Case Officer will not ask for any evidence of things that you don't need to justify. It may save you time, money and some hassles. I have filled the technical help form at the immi.gov.au website for the same issue and let's see what they have to say. Moreover, I am going to call tomorrow at the Australian Immigration Office switchboard. I didn't fill anything wrong, don't know why this is causing such problems. Also, If I lodge a new EOI application and let this one lapse, Do I have to wait for this one to lapse ? In addition, Would the cancellation of EOI have any negative consequences ? How many points do you have in total? As far as I know you don't have to wait, you can just create a second EOI and ignore the first one. However I encourage you to search for an option to retire your current EOI just in case. DIBPS only looks at those EOI's that become Visa applications, the rest just expire and nothing is done to them. Nope cancelling EOI does nothing. It is like buying something online, they don't really care until you make the payment. Everything else just sits there and they don't pay attention to it.
