ndelame
Hello, I own a permanent resident vuisa (189) and I'll settle in Australia next August. My girlfriend and our daughter will follow me with a tourist visa, so I have to organize a private insurance for them. - Am I elligible for medicare as soon as I settle in Australia, or is there a waiting period? - In any case my girlfriend is pregnant from a second child (before or after we enter Australia), could we benefit from medicare assistance for maternity issues, if I justify that I am the father? Thanks!
blossom
I'm guessing your partner is on your visa? In which case she'd have full Medicare access.
blossom
Sorry, just saw the tourist visa part. What country are they from, and why were they not included on your visa? Applying for a partner visa before hand would probably be a better plan. You will be eligible straight away. It depends on nationality to if your partner and daughter are covered. ndelame
Well, we realized not include them on the visa was a mistake... As I'll spend 2 weeks in OZ in november (to "activate the visa") and move there only in august, am I already eligible to sponsor my girlfriend for a patner visa? Maybe I need an adress in OZ for that?
